I am researching my daughter's family tree, one branch of which goes back to a Gilbert Smith who was born about 1670 in Launceston, Cornwall. Most of his family were stone-masons and one descendant, Frederick Smith, born in Launceston in 1787 married a Mary Jago of that town. Frederick, his wife and a family emigrated to New Zealand in 1840. As I am doing this research from New Zealand it is very difficult to verify anything I glean from the internet. Would anyone be interested in corresponding with me to see what can be found further back? I would be very grateful.
